Plot summary
Avannah and her family are very close. They have a good daily routine around school and work, and the family spend time together on the weekends. However, when Avannah’s mother, Vic, is asked to use her experience to set up a medical centre in the bush, the family’s comfortable schedule is disrupted.
Everyone is upset at the thought of her leaving for a year, yet no one wants to join her out bush. After several family conversations, a compromise is reached.
The children’s grandmother, Granqui, explains the importance of their mother’s work and they agree to support her in this venture.
After a while, Granqui stays with the family to help them, and when Christmas holidays arrive they all set off to visit Vic.
