- Pre-wash garments, print, heat-set and finish per manufacturer’s guidance.
- Clean equipment promptly to maintain pigment clarity and screen fidelity.
Benefits:
- Cost-effective and reliable base ink system for studios or makers requiring versatile output.
- Works well for light-background garments, which are common in many apparel lines.
- Compatible with Texcraft’s broader system enabling future upgrades to opaque or metallic finishes.
- Suitable for small batch production, bespoke pieces or custom garment printing.
- Water-based formulation supports safer studio environment and cleaner clean-up.
Perfect For:
- Printing designs on white or light-coloured t-shirts, apparel items, bags or cushions.
- Designing brand merchandise where standard colours suffice and high opacity not essential.
- Workshops teaching textile printing fundamentals where standard colour performance is key.
- Art-textile projects where bright colour palette over light base fabric is desired.
- Makers building a flexible print studio with capacity to expand into more specialized inks later.
Usage:
- Choose correct mesh size and squeegee hardness to balance ink deposit and hand-feel.
- Keep formula records for colour consistency across runs and re-orders.
- Apply minimal flood stroke before squeegee to ensure good ink deposit without bleed.
- Heat-set prints according to Texcraft guidelines (check SDS or product instruction sheet).
- Store unused ink in sealed containers, stir well before each use, and protect from direct sunlight.
Instructions
- The TEXCRAFT water based printing ink system is designed for use on Cotton and Poly/Cotton blend fabrics.
- When printing onto fabrics with a high synthetic fibre content, the ink will bond better with the addition of 5-10g/Ltr of Texprint Fixing Agent.
- To fix TEXCRAFT inks, allow paint to dry then DRY iron all areas for 4-5 minutes as HOT as fabric will allow.
- To thoroughly cure inks HEAT SET @130°C FOR 5-6 MINS OR 150°C FOR 3-4 MINS WITH DRY HEAT. This will achieve maximum rub & wash fastness.
- When heat setting with an iron, press or tumble dryer fastness qualities WILL be reduced.
- Ensure colours have been heat set thoroughly before washing.
- ALWAYS TEST PRINT AND CHECK FASTNESS BEFORE COMMENCING A PRINT RUN!!
- Avoid eye contact. Avoid repeated and prolonged contact with skin.
- Wash off any spillage on clothing quickly with cold soapy water to reduce staining.
