This information is passed on via its E-News and fax stream services to principals, teachers, librarians and other professional development personnel. Harleys also use this facility to inform customers about sales and discounts, new releases and thematic or seasonal merchandise.

Approvals

Harleys will send goods on approval to customers wishing to peruse the product prior to purchase. The customer/school then has the option to either return or retain the product.

Bulk Discounts

Harleys offer substantial discounts to schools ordering books in bulk quantities. These discounts can be offered for one-off or yearly contracts depending on the products and quantities required.

The website not only displays an extensive range of products and resources, but is constantly updated with professionally evaluated new release titles, some of which are displayed with jacket images. The ordering process is both simple to use and consistent in nature to ensure familiarity and confidence with regular use. At Back-To-School an on-line store is available for customers who require its services outside of working hours and also for rural customers who are limited by distance.

Catalogues

Harleys are able to supply a substantial selection of catalogues from various suppliers. Catalogues are frequently sent to schools and customers to provide a greater depth of information on products and resources available.

Covering and Stitching

For a minimal fee, Harleys provide covering and stitching to its customers on request. The result is a beautifully bound book, with increased shelf life. Books can also have library barcodes, spine labels and even tailor made property labels with colour logos applied before the books are covered and stitched. This is becoming more popular as more schools move towards purchasing class sets for their text-hire schemes.

Back-To-School Services

Harleys is the principal local supplier of Back-To-School products to the majority of schools in the Cairns and surrounding areas. Harleys offer many time-saving services to ensure that this period runs smoothly for schools, teachers, parents and students.

Harleys provides a Back-To-School list compilation service to schools, including printing and formatting lists for each class's requirements, individually tailored to the specific needs of each school.

Schools can choose to purchase bulk items for resale to parents through their tuckshop or uniform shop, or alternatively Harleys can "do the shopping for you".
